Cytomid 250mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Flutamide. It belongs to the class of medication called non-steroidal antiandrogens. It is used to treat advanced prostate cancer in men. This cancer leads to uncontrolled growth of the prostate, which spreads to the bones of the back, hips, and pelvis. This medicine can also be used after the surgical removal of testicles. It is taken with other medicines to decrease testosterone levels in the body.

It is a part of androgen deprivation therapy, a combination of radiation, surgical and hormonal therapy in high-risk patients. Androgen deprivation therapy lowers the levels of testosterone considerably. Prostate cancer is sensitive to androgen; hence, this treatment aims to counteract the source and effect of androgen.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Flutamide and its other ingredient. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems, heart disorders (arrhythmia), blood vessel conditions, osteoporosis (brittle bones), or chest conditions like breathlessness.
